Yellow Hammer
There were two yellow hammers in the garden at one point. I managed a few shots but they are pretty fast movers.
Another quiet day for us. We walked along to Janice’s with a couple of cotoneaster plants she wanted. All the rest of the seedlings I dug up and planted in the autumn, I put out at the end of the drive with a sign saying Help Yourself. They were all well rooted, and just a mixture of plants in the garden. 23 plants have gone already.
Had a great explore in Janice’s garden. She gardens purely for birds, insects, frogs etc. So it can look like an overgrown wilderness at times, but there is method in all the planting and arrangement. I’ve never seen birds so chilled as they are in her garden. The blackbirds in particular are almost friendly.
