Black Locust
Here’s one I’d never heard of.
On one of my regular dog walks I’ve noticed this over the last week or so.
Today I found quite a few clusters of the racemes lying on the ground, so I popped them in a spare doggie bag and brought them home to identify.
I took some pictures at home, see extra, but the main picture is the tree itself.
I’m not sure which side of the fence it is growing, it’s by a garden which backs onto the main road. I shall look again next time.
Seemingly it is a native to North America.
Latin name Robinia pseudoacacia
Also known as "false acacia".
