Aspidistra

An early morning walk over the Ashdown Forest. The Aspidistra transmitter was located here, near King's Standing, and used in broadcasting propaganda and military deception to Nazi Germany during World War II. In 1943 there were more than 30 radio masts on the skyline. Now there is only one - the site is now used as a training facility by Sussex police.
