Perspective
I've managed to hit most milestones without realising I had, but a few days ago I was informed I was approaching my 3000th blip. Unless I've embarrassingly mis-counted, this is it.
I don't usually comment on politics or current affairs in my blips - I just stick to passing wildlife, the North-East's wild seas and majestic landscapes (someday I'll photograph a hill other than Bennachie, honest!), occasional arty stuff, and Hendricks when he can be persuaded to pose. But seeing the Ukrainian flag fluttering on Castle Hill with clouds looming over it did put things things in perspective somewhat for me: here's me fretting each day about getting a presentable photo to post, while the people there are living with the horrific dangers of war and an immense threat to the liberty and possibly very existence of their country.
On a more positive note: I've enjoyed my blipping over the years, and that's really because of the friends I've made along the way. You have been immensely supportive and encouraging, and I've found your photos and journals more entertaining, touching and inspiring that I can possibly say. Thank you!
