Ringed Plover Chick

A bit of a commotion at Grutness in the late afternoon.  The Ponies were charging around and just managing to avoid the Ringed Plover and Lapwing chicks in the process. In the meantime the adults birds were squabbling with each other if at any time they got near the other birds chicks. The chicks meanwhile seemed to be oblivious of what was going on. I also saw the Grutness House cat walking away proudly with a Wheatear in it's jaws.
