Another day, another waterfall

Joppastrand had suggested Killin and Loch Tay as a place to visit.  So we arranged to meet a friend for lunch at The Falls of Dochart Inn, and scheduled a fairly early start, so we could take a longer scenic route, which involved a drive down the side of Loch Tay, with opportunities to stop for a walk or two.

That fell at the first hurdle.  We spent a significant part of the morning trying to rescue our purchase in Ireland - our vendors have, not totally unreasonably, grown tired of waiting and want to withdraw.

We eventually left Dunblane with enough time to enjoy the scenic drive, but no time to stop.  Interestingly, although I found the scenery on the drive, on some more bleak hills, dramatic, I decided I definitely prefer the softer scenery around the lochs and in woodland.  Lunch with B at The Falls of Dochart Inn was tasty, and it was great to meet up with another friend.

After lunch, we pottered around at the Falls.  We had thought of visiting The Longhouse, but W and I were just not in the mood.  But we enjoyed clambering on the rocks around the falls, marvelling at the tree that appeared to be growing on a rock, and listening to the water.  Also with some lovely views of distant hills.

We then retired to the car to answer yet more (what feel to us nitpicking) questions from our buyers' conveyancer, before driving back to the apartment.  We had a feast of Springwatch, catching up with yesterday's episode, before watching today's.
