Encircled rose

I distracted my husband when he was dead-heading the roses a couple of days ago and he chopped off a bud by mistake.  I rescued it and put it in a special vase for rose heads which had belonged to my Mum.  It has opened fully, despite having a very short stem.  And the scent is lovely!

We watched the service from St. Paul's this morning.  We thought parts of it were very good, especially the talk.
