Early evening at Playa del Finlandia
This Friday morning was gray, rainy and cool, but turned into a warmer and sunnier afternoon, which was good as I had a completely duty-free evening for weeks. I used this moment well and did my daily 10 kilometers walk to enjoy the sound of waves and birds and beautiful nature beside the Lake Saimaa. Perfection!
Here's a brand new Finnish summer song by Olli Halonen as a soundtrack.
Direct translation of the lyrics:
The Finnish summer lasts for a while
But the world of the moment offers the best
We paid a hard price for these nights
When we freeze the rest of the year in the darkness.
But when the night is bright
we go to the beach to sit
and Eput plays their backpack hits
and with water birds sings J. Karjalainen
I think the paradise is just like this.
We sit quietly on a summer night
and again the sun colors the sky in purple
we enjoy right nights
and now no time to go to sleep
when Finnish summer is just a moment.
Long days are expected throughout the winter
it shortens before the holiday starts
we follow a little jealous
from headline posters where the dry weather is promised.
But after sauna steams
we sit down for drinks
and listen Rauli singing his songs
I stare the beach of the cottage
and just so much I love
these nights in Playa del Finlandia.
We sit quietly on a summer night
and again the sun colors the sky in purple
we enjoy right nights
and now no time to go to sleep
when Finnish summer is just a moment.
Now at the same time beer stains are lifted into the air
on the cottage piers and at the summer festivals
when the whole long winter is remembered
Playa del Finlandia.
We sit quietly on a summer night
and again the sun colors the sky in purple
we enjoy right nights
and now no time to go to sleep
when Finnish summer is just a moment.
We sit quietly on a summer night
and again the sun colors the sky in purple
we enjoy right nights
and now no time to go to sleep
when Finnish summer is just a moment.
