The Enemy Beneath Our Feet

I spent most of the afternoon carefully digging over a patch of garden (with a trowel) which has been invaded by convolvulus. I’d removed the bulk of the roots a few weeks ago, but odd tiny fragments, like this, had remained, and are already sprouting new plants. Folk say that the only way to get completely rid of convolvulus is to use glysophate, but I’m reluctant to do that, especially a this patch of the garden will shortly be housing veg beds.
