Jubilee celebrations

Spent most of the day in the patio listening to Hay Book Festival online and noticed that most of our tulips are still hanging on in there, unheard of early in June.
 
As for the Jubilee celebrations, a television news item tonight from Glasgow confirmed what many of us have already been saying. This is a non-event in Scotland. 
 
The reporter asked a number of people in the street why they were not celebrating and the answers ranged from” waste of money at a time when people are starving” “ Out-dated” “ old fashioned”.
