Sizergh

Got up early, packed the car, and were on the road before 7.30 this morning for the long drive up to the Lakes. A fairly quiet journey, thank goodness, apart from a bit of a delay on the M6. We stopped at Sizergh for lunch, a National Trust property not far from where we’re staying, as we couldn’t get in the cottage til 3. It was worth the visit - nice gardens but not so keen on the house (too much dark wood panelling), but there would have been lots of good estate walks if we’d had more time.

Finally arrived at the cottage which seems very nice indeed! Looking forward to exploring more tomorrow.
