Curses! An old path hidden under the grass.

I removed all the bricks so that I could excavate the trench for my path, I also had to reposition it slightly to the right so that, although there are steps to the door, it needs to line up properly. 

Having recut the right edge, I did the left then began digging out to discover there had been flints laid in the distant past. These are quite difficult to remove but when that's done the rest of the digging should be easy.
