Street poppies

Day 1 of #30dayswild started in a rather neglected marshy grassland with a tufa depositing stream, which fortunately still retained much of its former wetland flora including abundant Water Horsetail and locally frequent Common Valerian. 

A quick stop in Castor to admire the pavement poppies (and Jubilee decorations) before heading to King's Dyke NR to help with the annual Bug Hunt. Wonderful to be inspiring the next generation of entomologists!
