Mount York
I was killing a bit of time this morning waiting for Adrienne to return from the city so I took a short drive out to Mt York where, in 1813, the early explorers completed the first crossing of the Mountains post colonisation.
The main blip is from the final escarpment looking into the western plains towards Bathurst. The extra is the plaque on the monument commemorating the crossing.
Building the road in 1815 and the railway in 1865 were both engineering masterpieces but those stories will need to wait.
