Village skills
A quieter day for us today and a much cooler one!
Our highlights of the weekend have been over the past two days.
Chris had a job to do at church with the help of son Alex and I wandered round the village on my way to meet them and call at the Post Office for some stamps.
As the Jubilee weekend continues I wanted to be sure I had seen all the various displays for the celebrations before they disappear. I heard from a friend that there was a hand painted tribute to the Queen at a house just behind us in a road we rarely use. Also the yarn bombing of the post box which I’m reliably told was done by our own blipper airedaleknitter. Bits great examples of peoples skills and creativity.
Lots of bunting everywhere of course. We put ours round the door at church. The Congregational Church had some lovely planters outside with red whist and blue flowers in them. Extra
We’ll be watching the Platinum Party at the Palace tonight. Who can forget Brian May playing his guitar on the palace roof at the Golden Jubilee twenty years ago. He’s opening the show tonight but not on the roof though we’re told he has some surprises planned.
