Morrone Birkwood, Braemar

Totally *stunning* conditions up North today - no picture can really do justice to how beautiful the Cairngorm woods and hills were looking ...

... but here's the distant alpine-plateau, with some June snow still visible, as taken from within the ancient Morrone Birkwood just above Braemar. A few (early) dragonflies were buzzing around the water.

The views were equally as breathtaking in every direction :-)
