Why is it that three of the birthday cards I received today, mentioned drinking wine?

I thought this one from my brother-in-law and his wife might make you smile!

Last night we were at the Annual Dinner of the walking group, at Skipton Golf Club.
Lovely meal and a great night with friends.

I was still full this morning, but then we were treated to lunch at The Fleece, Addingham, by my brother-in-law.
After reading the menu, suddenly got my appetite back!

The four of us had a lovely lunch.

I had Wye valley asparagus with pink grapefruit hollandaise. Nice and light, and delicious.
Followed by Braised belly of Lancashire old spot pork, poached Yorkshire rhubarb, sage and onion mash, buttered parsley root, and Lishman's of Ilkley, black pudding fritter.

Wine I chose was a very refreshing white Sauvignon Blanc/Riesling from Australia.

No pud!! Too Full!! Just coffee to finish.

MrC drove home, and is now asleep on the sofa!

A very Happy birthday weekend!

Forgot to mention that I also had lovely prezzies from family and friends.
