The Early Blipper Gets A Blip
This morning we woke up early to partake in the local Biodiversity society dawn chorus walk. We had actually missed the real chorus - that was in full tweet at about 5 am but even so there was plenty going on when we arrived at the community centre a 6 am. The walk was a short 90 minute stroll round the village with our resident expert, followed by breakfast in the community centre.
I took a few pictures on my way round but this one was taken as we were leaving. It's a female house sparrow (Passer domesticus) who was inspecting the buds on the tree outside the community centre.
After that it was an hour or so ironing yesterday's laundry then off to town to get rid of some woody/thorny garden waste and do some shopping.
