Jubilee souvenirs

Today we had the family for a late Sunday roast, indoors, so I decided to lay the table with Union Jack napkins, beakers etc. my intention was to photograph the dining table but all attempts were unsuccessful and not nice enough to blip! So instead these are the souvenir tins I have bought for the grandchildren and also a book that was given away free in our church which outlines various aspects of the Queens faith. ( I did wonder why they were being given away free!) we did manage to get some family group photos wearing red, white and blue necklaces, hates etc.

This morning I did go to the special Jubilee service ( my first visit to church since Covid stopped  services in 2020.) There were lots of uniformed organisations parading, eg guides and scouts as well as the local Lifeboat crew and the a British Legion representatives. Our local M.P Munira Wilson also attended ( she actually lives in a different parish) and the deputy mayor planted two trees in the churchyard. The vicar who is very popular announced last week that he is leaving in August to take up a new post, a promotion, at All Saints the main church in Kingston by the Market Place. He gave a very good sermon about aspects of the Queens faith.

I also popped over to a street party organised by a friend and saw at least five other streets closed en route. So glad that for them the rain forecast earlier in the week did not materialise.
