Sants Shaded Walkway

Bb and I had a good walk this morning, returning home with most of our 10,000 steps in the bag. We ordered a roast chicken for a late lunch, to pick up at 3pm. On Calle Berlín, 7 mins to home, we bumped into our next door neighbour and friend Merce, who was on the way to meet her sister for breakfast.  A few steps further on,  we stopped to chat to another couple of neighbours from our passageway, Montse and her husband. They invited us to sit down and have a coffee with them, which we did.

Bb did some work back home and I cut and potted some lavender cuttings and watered our roof terrace plants and the balcony ones (the patio ones tend to get done in the evening - not sure why!), made a lemon cheese cake and chatted on WhatsApp with Isabel, a very good Scottish friend here.

In the afternoon, another short walk and we picked up our roast chicken and a baguette, then lunch on the patio. Salad of lettuce and chives (from the roof terrace garden bed), tomato, cucumber, peppers, apple and kiwi with lemon and olive oil dressing, followed by chicken. Enjoyed some of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations and were lucky enough to catch the live coverage when she appeared on the balcony. Then lemon cheesecake. About to go for another walk and pick up fennel, which we ordered at a local fruit and veg shop, having enjoyed a fennel, orange and cheese salad on Friday night when out with Claire and Phil and we want to try it at home.

Today has felt like an extra day because I was convinced it was Monday when I got up!! I think the very early night last night, then waking up briefly when Bb came to bed, made me feel like I'd had two nights' sleep!
