Jubilee Typewriters and Pavanes
Kendal Concert Band played at the Burneside Cricket Club celebrations today. Included in our repertoire were suites from Pirates of the Caribbean, West Side Story and Les Miserables, along with the Elizabethan Serenade and that very old number Typewriter, with full percussion. The table is laden with sandwiches and cakes ready for us and the rest of the community. (I'm playing but I'm hidden behind a flag.)
This evening I changed instrument and played in a clarinet trio at Burneside church, playing Pavane from the Capriol Suite and a piece by Handel.
(Don't be too impressed, only some of my notes were played - as you might say - at the right pitch at the right time, but you can get away with anything during Jubilee festivities!)
