Toads on the road !

Found this happy couple on the road in Hayfield Derbyshire.

There chances of survival were not good in that spot. I tried to get them to move them to the edge a little - they were standing right where the next set of car wheels would go :-(

After a nice sunny morning - it was back to cloudy, cold and damp (later rain!).

This meant there was a lack of migrant birds to be spotted - not a swallow in sight. There were Chiffchaff and Willow Warblers but mostly the usual suspects of 99 Jackdaws and 50 Woodpigeons.

The morning search for Cuckoo drew a blank I'm now questioning what I heard on Saturday lunch time as a possible human going cuckoo !
