It’s a new day

How much did I giggle this morning when I lifted my phone to check the time to see a text from K telling me how awful she felt and how seen off because she was pretty sure she had only had three drinks tots all day.

Can’t say I disagree with her …. Although our bar tab put us beyond three. We rose slowly and giggled our way through breakfast
As the little girl who was ‘on my own today’ forgot what you asked her for from leaving your table til she reached the bar; gave our breakfast (two plates to one of the other tables - with three seats) and. Wondered for a long while why our breakfast hadn’t come through.

Eventually the third person at the table asked where her breakfast was and only then did it dawn on her. She had given them our breakfast and hadn’t taken their order through.

The lady owner came through and (I think she was cooking) asked who has asked for what between our tables.

And then pointed to the third table. YES THERE WERE ONLT THREE TABLES. What their order was … the girl gazed at them and said I’m not sure I took their order.

Lady cook went back to kitchen and the wee lassie turned to the third table and said ‘I’ll just take your order again to hurry it up; I’m on my own today’

Finally we got our breakfast and very nice it was too! We packed our small bag and headed. Quick stop at the range and then home. Where we both fell asleep on deck chairs in the garden and then Si took to the sofa for fear of disturbing the neighbours with his snoring.

The rest of the day was spend moaning about how tired we were but what a lovely reason to be knackered
