Made the best of it...

When we came out of the hotel this morning we discovered CyclopsJnr's brand new bike and MrsCyclops bike had been stolen off the car roof rack in the hotel car park.  Each was double locked, but the thieves had clearly come equipped with the right tools for cutting - the locks were destroyed as was one of the bike carriers.

CyclopsJnr was absolutely gutted as you would expect, having just got the bike two weeks ago for his birthday.  Hopefully the insurance will mean they're not too long without a bike, but it wasn't a good start to the day.

We tried to make the best of things. 

We went to Hazlehead Park where CyclopsJnr enjoyed the play area, and the three of us passed and kicked a rugby ball around (and a Nerf Howler) and generally had a great time (pictured).

Next we went to the Beach Leisure Centre for a swim - we love a pool with waves and rapids and it did not disappoint.  We had lunch at a cafe with a lovely view out to sea, then a walk on the beach before heading home.

We managed to make the best of things and enjoy the day in spite of the theft of the bikes, but now we're home and will have to try to resolve this and get everyone back on two wheels...
