VOLUNTEER CHERRY TOMATOES
This year, I decided not to grow TOMATOES.
Over the last several years I have spent a lot of time & resources to grow my son’s heirloom seedlings, without much luck.
With the drought worsening & water restrictions upon us, it makes sense.
My favorite variety, GIRL GIRL WILD THING,
will be missed.
Except, now I have (not 1, but)
2 volunteers tomato plants, growing in the
most unlikely of places. Without any TLC,
this cherry tomato plant, in my Blip, is bearing fruit in a pot with a Gardenia. It’s actually doing better than the Gardenia! And, another is growing behind a large Rose bush. Both are far, far away from where I tried to grow them in the past.
It looks like I AM growing TOMATOES,
after all.
