Leadhills Library

Had a meeting of the Reading Society the group who keep this amazing miners library going. It is a museum now but the books are original, read by the miners and paid for by them through their subscriptions. The titles are astounding and to think after a day down a cold, wet lead mine they spent their leisure hours bettering themselves reading sermons and theses on geology .
