We're On Our Way!

This morning we boarded an Amtrak Acela train from Boston to New York's Penn Station.  What a pleasant experience!  We splurged and went First Class, with very comfortable, private seating, drinks and lunch cheerfully provided, and incredibly helpful Red Cap (luggage porter) service at both stations to help us wrestle all that luggage we packed yesterday on and off the train.

We are spending the night at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel (used to be the old Helmsley Palace of "Queen of Mean" Leona Helmsley fame), and this is the gorgeous view of St. Patrick's Cathedral from our bedroom window!  Tomorrow the adventure continues ...
