Sunday in the countryside

A beautiful day at the Trullo, where we saw a rather wonderful collection of creatures. The little lizards are quite a common sight and are always delightful. Then there was a snake - thankfully not such a common sight. A gecko drew our attention to the columns around the table and then a creature we had never seen before suddenly appeared, like a very large mouse (note: mouse, not rat) looking very healthy. It disappeared nearly as quickly as it came, by bouncing up the stairs to the roof of the Trullo. A few minutes later a beautiful bird appeared with amber coloured wings with black and white wingtips - very stylish.
