Gas Inventer.
William Murdoch was born in at Bello Mill farm near Cumnock in Ayrshire. In 1779 he was sent to Redruth here in Cornwall as a senior engine erector.responsible for the election,maintenance and repair of Bolton &Watt engines.these were used for pumping water out of the cornish tin mines.in his spare time was spent in design and innovation he is believed to be the first I Britain to construct and use a steam power road going vehicle this was in 1785 .in 1792 was the first person in the world to light his house and office with piped coal gas.this laid the foundation for the gas industry of today. We went to wilko this afternoon and I popped across the road down a side street to take this blip.
