Nottingham
I had a blood test first thing this morning after which we set off to Nottingham where we are staying for a few days whilst the tennis is on at the Nottingham Tennis Centre. We have tickets for Thursday's quarter finals. These are tickets we bought in 2019 but because it rained all day there was no outside tennis. The pandemic then put paid to seeing the tennis in 2020 and 2021, so at last we can go and see some live tennis, always supposing it doesn't rain again....the forecast at the moment being OK.
We dumped our stuff at the Airbnb flat and went for a walk along the canal towpath which the flat overlooks, passing the castle and ending up at a city centre pub where we had a refreshing drink. On return along the towpath we stopped off at another pub, The Waterfront, where we had a very nice meal at a very reasonable price.
On the way to Nottingham we stopped off at the Moto services at Donnington. They have an extensive area behind the building given over to grassland, a lake and wildflowers. As we were walking through the latter I spotted this tiny Cinnabar moth. Thanks to Jensphotos for hosting Tiny Tuesday this month.
There is a boat tied up at canal marina. I thought with the name it has I shouldn't give up the chance to show it to the community. It's in the extras.
