Wester Moffat Hospital
I don't know if it's just me or if it's just the West of Scotland, but old NHS hospitals all seem to have a castle-like building somewhere on their grounds. You see it over and over again.
Almost inevitably, these buildings are in a state of disrepair and are surrounded by more modern, smaller buildings that were presumably built to replace the original building.
I looked into the history of this one and it was an old country house which the NHS purchased.
When you look from the ward windows you see large verandahs. This got me wondering if the hospital was used in the 1940s as a TB sanatorium where patients were pushed out in their beds daily to help the fresh air cure the disease. Who knows!
