Coxswain...
A dull day but at least the rain has stopped long enough to walk the promenade down to the harbour. Grabbed a shot (photoshopped to brighten it up) of the life-size statue depicting a skipper of a lifeboat battling the waves at sea during a rescue. It stands in the shadow of the lifeboat centre. The statue was made my 'Tommy' creator, Ray Lonsdale and was commissioned by the town’s East Durham Heritage Group and Lifeboat Centre. I showed a pic Ray's latest local creation last week - the Dray and Horses in the City centre.
