Haughmond Hill

Slowly recovering from cold/ sore throat ( not Covid) my sister and I took a leisurely stroll up to the view from Haughmond Hill. Beautifully clear day, we could see south to the Shropshire hills and Caer Caradoc. (Caer is apparently welsh for a stronghold or citadel).
We also called in to the ruin of Haughmond Abbey, we were the only visitors so it was lovely to wander around and enjoy the site. It must have been magnificent before Henry VIII decided to “reshape” the Catholic Church .
