Family Fun Time

We went into plan B late last night and early this morning. Since bad weather is predicted for tomorrow, Jamie decided he’d take my nephew, great-nephew and BIL fishing at 7:00 this morning. They caught their limit pretty quickly which was good because Jamie had a very important business meeting with many high ranking folks including the owner of his company and the Secretary of the Navy, people you don’t brush off. As you can see, the great nephew was delighted, his first sizable fish. He wan’t sure about being in the Chesapeake Bay “with sharks.” Being from Wyoming, this was his first experience with such a large body of water. Kristen hurt herself pretty badly when she fell through her deck last night so we had to cancel Friday’s BBQ at her house; the deck must be repaired and deemed safe before anyone gets on it. A supporting joist gave way, causing the board Kristen was standing on to fall. Her leg is a mess but no bones broke. We decided to combine the two pool parties and grill vs. order pizza. As the pictures show, we had quite a success. The only person missing was Jamie ( who, with his wife, hosted the party) but he saw our visitors in the morning. The storms held off until we had wrapped up the party and put everything away. Thank you Lord. We were under a tornado warning but the severe weather just missed us, again. The only incident at the party was my mother somehow lost a sizable layer of skin when she sat down on a lawn chair. She rubbed her arm against the canvas chair arm and it wasn’t a pretty sight from what I hear- I could not look. I ran home for bandages but others had to apply them. My sister will take her to have it checked tomorrow. She probably should take antibiotics and get a tetanus shot. Her great granddaughter, who is her namesake, stayed close to her. It warmed my heart to see the love among our family today. Hoping you will have opportunities to spend time with your loved ones. Thanks for dropping by. We heard no news today nor watched any TV. “The love in our family flows strong and deep, leaving us memories to treasure and keep.” - anonymous (Allhappyquotes.com)
