Fishing...

This young heron was so engrossed in trying to catch a fish that it allowed me to approach quite closely. The river was looking and sounding very spring-like this morning - great spotted woodpeckers chasing each other around, one pair of swans mating, another pair on a nest, lots of activity from the kingfishers (always too far away for a good shot though) and the first cuckoo of the year.
