Grey Heron

The young one flew over to the grass again today. She had most of the whitebait then flew over to the loch again. The male flew over to the side of the loch just within his territory and the older female landed about 10 yards away on the fringe of his territory. I was able to feed them both. There was no sign of the very young one. This afternoon the young one did not appear. It is not all that unusual as she had a good feed this morning. The male was there though. He has an insatiable appetite and got his food. The very young one was there as well so got all the whitebait.
In other news, it seems as though there is another nest. I heard the chicks yesterday and someone on the Facebook site for the loch has seen the nest. I really don't think this one has anything to do with the young one though.
