Another Opening, Another Show

With half an hour to go before curtain up, the director wanted a few pictures of us in costume. After getting the ones suitable for publicity purposes, we were encouraged to be “silly”. As if we needed much prompting!
Despite the grins, there was a distinct air of trepidation about what was to come, as the dress rehearsal hadn’t exactly gone smoothly. As it happened, we needn’t have worried as it went very well with only a few fluffed lines. A slight “splat pack” malfunction meant a large amount of “blood” covering the wrong person, but it was near enough to the end for it not to matter.
Positive feedback from the audience and there was a nice surprise afterwards when my fellow actor and blipper, dunkyc was informed that one of his blip followers had been to see the show and would like to meet him. I tagged along to introduce myself and would just like to say it was a pleasure to meet you, sheilwill.
A quiet day today, though I did manage to fit in a decent workout in the gym before lunch. I’ve been running through my lines this afternoon. Just because we had a good show last night, we can’t be complacent tonight as that’s when mistakes will occur.
But I’m definitely more confident about the rest of the run and looking forward to tonight.
