Kingsgate Bay Castle

Quite an imposing sight, is this 18th century castle. I'd like to say that it once looked out to sea, protecting the owner from attack. However, unless it's purpose was to protect his fearless cavalry, that couldn't be further from the truth. It was in fact built merely to be a stable block to his nearby home! And today? It is simply private residences. Ah well, it looks good anyway.

Jakanory has a story. He loves Kingsgate beach. Off came the lead and he was off! He dug in the sand (hello Australia, we are through), he chased a ball found on the beach and one that he stole from an unsuspecting couple (back on the lead for a while in disgrace). He discovered a love of the gentle lapping waves and, for an accidental moment, he was actually swimming.
