Back in the Dales!

Our journey home from Jen and Pete's was trouble free despite our train being cancelled.  We set off earlier than planned and had an hour in Carlisle station waiting for our connection which is a pleasant station to sit in, light and airy.  I also got talking to an interesting American woman who was heading on the same train to Appleby to visit the horse fair.  She hailed from Seattle and I was able to talk of NannaK and my knowledge of the city from her and Blipfoto.  Surprisingly, she didn't know her (!)

When we passed by Appleby we were surprised by how extensive the encampment was for the fair and lots of folks got off the train there.  

Back home early afternoon, Tony checked the allotment and then went off to the supermarket whilst I put in some holiday washing and emptied and cleared away the bags.

Holiday over, but we had a most enjoyable time.  Apparently there will be gales up in the Isles in the next couple of days.....
