Night Sky
We have spent the evening chatting to Jonas, who is staying overnight on his way to pick up his son who is at a school about 6 hours drive north of us, in Älvsbyn. The son, Alexander, is attending a 6th form college that specialises in cross-country skiing. Now it's time for him to go home for the summer.
After we'd chatted we wandered down the garden with Jonas, to The Red House where he'll sleep. This is how it looks at 11 o'clock at night. It'll get a little darker by midnight, but not by much. We have a month of these really light white nights and they really are magical. The sun is actually below the horizon for about 4 hours.
Up where Alexander is studying the sun is down for less than 2 hours, just now. Midsummer night will be just 35 minutes long up there, just below the Artic Circle.
