This Could Be The Best Place Yet

Today was a funny ole day.   And Time played a big part in it.

Beanie, had been very vocal for a large part of Wednesday evening.  Shouting loudly at us at every opportunity.  Hiding from us, and shouting some more.   Laying down in weird places and just generally being strange.

We decided to keep her in overnight - rather than let her prowl.  The previous two nights she was very vocally objecting to it.

At 3.30 am, her usual time, she scratched the door and was shouting to get out, and Si let her out.

When I woke in the morning, I looked at the front door and didn't see her wee face in the window as normal, but that's not unusual, sometimes she is a little late for breakfast, but she always appears.

Not this morning.

I left for work and kept in constant communication with Si...

Nothing happened all day - except for the Magpie attack.   Si heard a noise downstairs and came to see if it was Bean.  It wasn't   It was a Magpie eating beanie's breakfast.

The magpie took fright and rather than flying out the door, flew into the hall, from the hall he took off - up the stairs. and from the stairs, he went into the bathroom.

Si was able to trap him in the bathroom, opened the window, and managed to encourage him to fly out.

Still no Bean.

When I got home, we walked around the square of Bean's territory and shouted.  Nothing, not a peep.

We walked along the edge of the train line (Don't panic, trains aren't running on it right now).... nothing.  I shouted from the garden. Nothing.

I went out at 1030 - shouting quietly, listening for peeps.  Nothing.

We went to bed.  Left the window open and I slept with one ear up, listening for that Peep.  Nothing.

When I got up - I went to the loo and looked at the door. Nothing.

I opened the back door And Beau came in. She looked around and seemed confused.  And had her breakfast.

As I made the coffee, and mentally went through in my head what I was going to tell the kids.... Si shouted from the Loo.

"The Door"  "The Door".

I glanced down and there, through the glass, that wee black and white face staring me down.

I let her in and she ate two packets of food, and now she is back to sitting at the top of the stair, shouting at us.

Phew.
