Gold Coast Airport

There was a big flowery koala outside HOTA yesterday - must be a Gold Coast thing, like cows in Cambridge. Real koalas are more elusive, but road signs still warn drivers to watch out on the old highway down from Surfers. My brother and sister-in-law drove us that route to the airport, via brunch at Mermaid Beach.

The list of good places on the GC is expanding, but the best part remains the national parks in the hinterland.
