Dark green fritillaries

We decided to brave the rather mixed weather and try butterfly transect. I was pleased we did as the sun came out and I saw the first Dark Green Fritillaries of the year at Howe Ridding. Other butterflies were scarce sadly, it’s not looking good for the summer count so far.
