Patti Smith, in concert

I knew of Patti Smith, if you know anything about music and the arts you'll know her name. Many people will know her Springsteen written landmark song Because The Night. But of most of her music, and of herself, I know little. Tonight Patti played one of only 2 or 3 gigs in the UK in Scarborough, and she was stunning. Just her accompanied by Tony Sheenahan, but the show was perfect. She has such effortless cool, and quiet charisma, a friendly way with the audience (only a few hundred in the small Spa Theatre). When she sang that iconic hit, the hairs came up on the back of my neck. This was The Patti Smith, just there, singing That song, no band... A priceless moment I'll never forget.
