Didn’t have much breakfast as I thought the crossing to Islay was going to be very bumpy! Arrived at Kennacraig in plenty of time . The crossing was fine and sunny most of the way, with only about 20 minutes when it poure with rain and the sea became quite choppy. We went to the Ardbeg distillery for coffee and what we hoped would be a snack but it was somewhat disappointing, with only a small collection of cakes. Drove on to Bowmore (blipped) and had a wander around and then ontoPort Charlotte and Portnahavan and up the peninsula to look for two craft shops. Didn’t go in one. Second was up a long farm track . Nice owner from Lancashire whowechatted too for quite a while about wool and living on Islay, didn’t buy anything though. Easily found our B and B. Beautiful newish 3 bedroom bungalow- the owner sleeps here too which is a bit weird but he is very pleasant
