Seed heads

I seem to be obsessed with plants at the moment, so here’s yet another botanical blip. It’s the seed head of Stipa gigantica which is indeed huge - at least 8’ tall. I’m ashamed to say I don’t know what that is in metric. The evening light catches it wonderfully, makes for a glittering gold display which is really hard to capture as a photo. It’s still a new plant, just under a year old so it has two spikes. Watch out next year…
