In the morning we did a bike ride to a heritage centre, which had a museum and a site recreating the various activities of the area (mining, charcoal making, forestry etc.) There was also a small wood where we saw the gruffalo (please see third extra.) 
In the afternoon we had a steep walk up to a forest viewpoint,which was overgrown with trees.
First extra: I think this is a young mandarin duck.
Second extra: No blip is complete without a heron; this is the corkscrew heron.
