Marmagkas Beach

11.30am this morning we set off with our villa owners, for the short drive up a dirt track mountain road from Frikes harbour (Ithaca) to Marmagkas Bay. We set up on the beach, a stunning location looking out to Marmagas Island which you can see in the photograph with Mrs BB and our new friends Zoe and Aki snorkelling just off the beach with yachts anchored nearby.

A couple of hours later we enjoyed dinner at the beach taverna with some friends of theirs who are also South African. Their stories of why they all moved from South Africa were horrific.

We left near 5pm and the beach was fairly quiet all day but gets extremely busy in the peak season of July and August. Too hot for me, it was a pleasant 26C today.
