Second wedding shoot of 2013
Meet Stephanie and Melissa. They flew up to Seattle from Los Angeles to get married. They had already been together for 12 years, but they finally wanted to make it legal. Washington is one of only a dozen states that allow same sex marriages. My second wedding shoot this year.
Stephanie and Melissa were a wonderful couple to work with. They were delighted with their pictures, and I asked them to tell their friends who may be headed to Seattle.
Many same sex weddings take place at the courthouse, and some, like this one are held at a hotel or other public venue. Usually only the couple, a judge or minister, and a photographer. In this case, the venue was the Edgewater Hotel located right on the Seattle waterfront, and the officiant is a Seattle judge. Even the Beatle's have stayed at the Edgewater. A very impressive property.
Built out over the water on a long pier, many of the water view rooms have balconies where guests used to be able to catch their dinner from their room, and then take it to the dining room to be prepared and then served at their table.
