Ardnamurchan

Off on our hols. The three and a half hour ferry ride across to Mallaig was followed by driving down into the wilds of the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
First stop was Tioram Castle, a place full of historical connections with Uist and in particular through Ami MacRuari in the 14th century. On then to older sites in Camus nan Geall with Neolithic and Bronze age remains before reaching the campsite.
Sadly the calm weather meant that we had a welcoming party of a multitude of many midges and so we had to retreat off to the local pub for a meal and a drink.
